Internationally recognized as both virtuoso harpsichordist and award winning composer, Asako Hirabayashi approaches  traditional harpsichord repertoire with liberty and excitement to explore new way of expression.  She works with historical instrumentalists as well as modern instrumentalists, and her repertoire ranges from Renaissance to Contemporary music.

Her debut CD, The Harpsichord in the New Millennium, composed and played by herself was selected as one of the best 5 Classical CDs of the year 2010 by Star Tribune, and , was described as “24 tracks of passionate, sparkling, lyrical, even poignant music to help secure the harpsichords presence in the new millennium”by Fanfare.
